Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Arrival at Los Angeles international airport and transfer to hotel

  • Day 2

    Travel south to San Diego the second largest city in California. Take a city tour and visit the pretty Seaport village along with a little shopping at the Bayfront market place.

  • Day 3

    Today you will head for Palm Springs, the playground of the rich and famous with a lively downtown and then on through Indio in the Coachella Valley, host to a number of festivals.

  • Day 4

    Travel through the Sonoran Desert boasting the most biologically diverse ecosystem in the Americas overlooked by the huge red rock monoliths, two of which are named Cathedral and Coffee Pot

  • Day 5

    Enter the Navajo Indian reservation and pass through the Monument Valley region admiring some of the most iconic views of the west.

  • Day 6

    A visit to the second highest dam in America, the Glen Canyon Dam with stunning views of Lake Powell. Carrying on into Utah, the home of the mormon community. The Bryce Canyon is the next stop featuring spectacular sandstone towers and spires. Finish the day with some star gazing, a sight to behold!

  • Day 7

    Travel to the Zion National Park finishing in Las Vegas, the gaming capital of the world. Spend 2 nights here and sample the action on offer!

  • Day 8

    Enjoy a spot of designer shopping to break from the gaming tables or take in a cabaret show at one of the dazzling hotels on the strip.

  • Day 9

    Leaving Vegas, enter the extreme environment of Death Valley. Travel up through the Sierra Nevada mountains to the town of Mammoth Lakes, famous for it's gold mining past.

  • Day 10

    On this day travel through the Tiago Pass to Yosemite National Park. Soak up the splendour of this beautiful region with it's granite formations, El Capitan and the Dome, taking in the magnificent falls, Bridal Falls and Yosemite Falls.

  • Day 11

    Depart early this morning to arrive in San Francisco, one of the most beloved cities in America. Enjoy a comprehensive sightseeing tour before arriving at your hotel. This evening take a memorable City by Night Tour (optional). Hotel for 2 nights: Hilton San Francisco Union Square

  • Day 12

    Day at leisure! Your Tour Director is on hand to assist with making your plans for the day: perhaps a cable car ride to Fisherman’s Wharf where you may enjoy a “Taste of San Francisco”: local seafood, famous sourdough breads or decadent Ghiradelli’s Chocolate. Or take a stroll by Sea Lions’ Marina to watch them frolic.

  • Day 13

    Depart San Francisco this morning for the drive to the Monterey Peninsula, known for its magnificent homes and lovely beaches. In Monterey, visit Fisherman’s Wharf and famous Cannery Row. Then tour charming Carmel-by-the- Sea, noted for its quaint houses, upscale art galleries and unique stores.

  • Day 14

    Journey south through the Santa Ynez Valley into Santa Barbara, where palm-lined walkways border white sandy beaches. Upon arrival in Los Angeles, you’ll stop in Santa Monica, home to the “Finish Line” of Historic Route 66, where you may enjoy an optional lunch on the pier or a beach bike ride. Your afternoon tour of “The City of Angels” continues with Beverly Hills and Hollywood before arriving at your hotel.

  • Day 15

    Your tour ends upon check out from your hotel, make your way to the airport for your onward flight.
