Koh Samui is the second largest island after Phuket. It was one of the first islands to entice holiday makers to it’s shores. The interior of the island is a jungle paradise with beautiful picture postcard white & gold sandy beaches and palm trees at the edges.
You can choose a dose of quiet relaxation or join the fun at a beach party, Tranquil Buddhist temples can be discovered in the back streets of the coastal towns. You will be treated to a typical Thai warm welcome here and can indulge in authentic street food and typical Thai dishes alongside cuisine from around the world. Steak houses and Italian restaurants are scattered around the main towns.
If you fancy a change of scene there are ferries operating regularly to neighbouring islands, Kho Phangan island is great for it’s Full Moon parties that go on until sunrise! Or you could try your hand at snorkelling or kayaking in the clear waters.

The Dominican Republic is one of the more diverse countries of the Caribbean and it’s landscape features mountains, waterfalls, lagoons as well as spectacular white, sandy beaches.
Bavaro, Punta Cana is one of the most popular resorts and is quite lively with a fantastic beach offering jet skiing, sailing and many other activities. The Iberostar Bavaro Golf Club offers an 18 hole course for those keen to practise their swing.
Alternatively if you want a more laid back experience La Romana is quieter and Bayahibe, the main resort is a fishing village. The diving here is fantastic and there are lots of schools to chose from if you haven’t done it before.
January is in the dry season and temperatures range from about 24 to 27°C with an average of 9 hours of sunshine a day.
